With extensive experience in running high-end road trips throughout Asia, our team collaborates with carefully selected partners and has well trained leads on the ground in each destination. We go with you above for you, as you discover your inner XXplora.
On all of our xxplorations, we aim to use SUVs rented from reputable car rental agencies. We have a long-standing partnership with Avis in Asia. In some countries, like the Stans, we source the best there is, but the newest models may not be available.
Most women are well suited for our road trips, and even those who are unsure, end up discovering their inner XXPLORAS. You just need the right attitude and an open mind, as travelling on the road has its own surprises. For example, it’s not uncommon to meet water buffalos on the road or to have festival tents block our way in Asia.
Some countries may require more adventurous spirits and higher fitness levels. We ask that you carefully read through the description of each trip and check its adventure rating (1-5) before making your choice.
The total price includes your space in the car (the car rental, comprehensive insurance, petrol, road fees and permit fees), all accommodations (twin shared room), all activities
listed as included in the trip description, airport transfers and domestic flights as stated in the trip itineraries.
The final price, which depends on how many women participate, is determined and due three months before a journey. Our trips involve two payments: 1) The initial deposit to secure your space; and 2) The final payment due three months before the journey.
We guarantee your xxploration once we confirm a minimum of five XXPLORAS, which is ideal for environmental, operational and economic efficiency. If you booked an xxploration that gets cancelled for any reason, we contact right after to find another well suited to you.
Yes, you can. We’ve outlined some of the popular options available to you in each xxploration description. We can help you book these while on the trip, and you will pay the local operator directly.
Right after booking, your XXPLORA-in-Chief will be in touch to answer any questions you have along the way. If you’re comfortable with it, we also connect you with your fellow XXPLORAS, so you can start to get to know each other and get excited for your upcoming journey together.
Yes, we’d rather be safe than sorry, and require you to have proof of valid
comprehensive medical travel insurance. Specifically, you must have a policy that covers adventure/overland travel from a company that offers 24-hour emergency assistance and is experienced in providing support in developing countries.
Yes, simply let us know what your allergies and special requests are when you book, and our team on the road will arrange for food you can enjoy. If you’re particularly concerned and need access to specific goods, please consider bringing them with you.
All of our xxplorations lead you away from the busy main roads, and while most feature off-road sections, you don’t require advanced driving skills. In fact, our XXPLORAS who have tried off-roading for the first time with us have loved it.
Rest assured, you’ll never drive alone. There is always a lead car, so you can’t get lost, plus a driving specialist available to help in tricky situations. That said, some countries, specifically those with more traffic, may call for a higher level of caution and skill than others. Offering character, charm and comfort, these generally range from fancy boutique inns and 5-star hotels to jungle lodges and luxurious yurts! In some remote regions, however, options are limited to more basic stays. In all cases, your accommodations are well researched and well curated. Each trip description outlines what you can expect.

Everything you need to self-drive; the XXPLORA-in-Chief, driving specialist and local guide who accompany you every day; the high-end accommodations you sleep in every night; the remote destinations you visit; and unique xxperiences you have. This all may make an xxploration more expensive than an average trip, but it also makes it an unforgettable, unparalleled adventure.
We also give back to you by sharing the cost per traveller, so the bigger the group, the lower the price. The great value for money quickly becomes very clear to every XXPLORA who joins us.
To be fair to everyone, we suggest that the costs of meals are equally split by the group as we go. If you want to rest one evening instead of joining for dinner, you don’t need to contribute.
We always have water available to you in the cars. We buy other supplies, such as wine and champagne, beforehand as many remote places will not offer these, and split the cost evenly by the number of those who want to enjoy them.
Yes! If you’ve travelled with us before, you are entitled to a 5% discount on any of our xxplorations. Simply leave us a review of your first trip and be in touch to book your next one.
While we welcome women in their 30s, 40s and 50s, the average XXPLORA age is 45.
Yes, our xxplorations are designed to empower you to solo travel safely while having the social aspect on your terms. As you explore the foreign lands in a small group with other solo travelling women, you get to connect with likeminded people from around the world—while always have the freedom to opt for alone time.
Your health and safety are our top priority. We stock all of our care with emergency first aid kits. Quality and accessibility of medical facilities vary depending on the destination, but should an incident occur, our team will get you professional help as soon as possible. Still, we recommend you bring your personal medications, as well as a first aid kit.
Of course. Our xxplorations offer both action and relaxation, social connection and me time. We have many organized group activities and we recognize that at times our trips are full-on, action-packed adventures. We balance this with plenty of free time in our itineraries, so you can wander city streets on your own, sit solo at a stunning beach,
opt for a special activity, or simply relax somewhere quiet.
